This includes communication with students and teachers. The qualified candidate will have extensive experience in teaching French as a foreign language, excellent organizational and customer service skills. This position calls for speaking, reading, and writing in French, as well as in English.
This is a position (up to 25 hours/week with up to 10 hours of teaching and 15 hours of coordination/program work). The hourly rate is $30 for teaching and $30/hour for program coordinator work. The 15 hours of coordination/program work is for teacher communication, management, and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESThe Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing, and managing educational programs. This role involves curriculum planning, coordinating instructors, managing resources, and ensuring that educational initiatives align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about education.
Key Responsibilities:Program Development & Management
- Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs and curricula.
- Coordinate and schedule classes with reception, schedule workshops.
- Ensure programs align with industry standards, educational goals, and organizational mission.
- Train and support instructors and educators.
- Serve as a point of contact for students and educators.
- Address student inquiries and provide guidance on educational programs.
- Organize teacher forums for exchanging ideas and methods.
- Communicate with teachers regarding training opportunities and resources.
- Manage teacher replacements.
- Anticipate upcoming class sessions and recruit current teachers for new classes.
- Ensure clear communication of administrative policies in collaboration with OM and ED.
- Facilitate efficient communication lines between teachers and staff (i.e., replacement calendars, etc.).
- Work with OM to make sure teachers have the books and resources they need for each session.
- Review student placement tests as needed and assist new students in determining appropriate starting level.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Work with Reception to anticipate new classes needed and post scheduled classes onto Oncord.
- Ensure class descriptions accurately reflect the classes featured for each session.
- Work with Reception to send out confirmations for each class session.
- Coordinate TCF & DELF exam sessions.
