Role Details

The Teacher for the Deaf and Hard‑of‑Hearing teaches deaf and hard‑of‑hearing pupils in a classroom setting. Instructs in academic subjects of regular curriculum or adapted curriculum to meet the needs of the student population.

These contracts are near Colorado Springs, CO and will last the 25/26 school year. The contract pays $51 per hour (local) and $2,205 per week (travelers) including stipends for 37.5 student contact hours per week with a full benefits package.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations
• Knowledge in Sign Language and use of amplification devices for the deaf and hard‑of‑hearing
• Experience with deaf and hard‑of‑hearing students (preferred)
• ASL proficiency exam or certification may be required per state contract or district
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR (if applicable)
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x‑ray (if applicable)
• Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
