Full‑time | Hybrid work structure. Salary range: $78,000‑$83,000.
The Department of Integrative Biology seeks a tenure‑track assistant professor in cell and molecular biology. The candidate will develop a vigorous, externally funded research program, mentor undergraduates and graduate students, and contribute to innovative teaching and service for the department and university.
Responsibilities- Establish a sustainable research program, ideally incorporating stem cell biology using cell culture, organoids, or non‑vertebrate systems.
- Mentor undergraduate, MS, and PhD students, providing training in scientific methodology and career development.
- Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in cell biology, developmental biology, pathology, or related areas.
- Engage students at all academic levels, contributing to the department’s mission of accessible excellence in teaching and research.
- Perform service for the department, university, and broader community.
- A Ph.D. in biological sciences or a related field.
- Demonstrated record of peer‑reviewed publications that reflect rigorous scientific methodology and novel contributions.
- Postdoctoral research experience.
- Experience with national funding agencies and grant writing.
- Teaching and mentoring of students.
- Research experience in stem cell biology.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching and research practices.
- Effective communication across multiple modalities.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships.
- Experience with online or hybrid delivery of courses (preferred).
- Capacity to secure external funding and supervise advanced student research.
- Hybrid work structure: remote or office as needed.
- Standard physical requirements for a laboratory position (e.g., extended periods sitting, manual dexterity, minimal lifting).
The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Benefits & CompensationCompetitive salary commensurate with experience and internal equity (range $78,000‑$83,000). The university offers comprehensive health, retirement, and leave benefits.
