This posting establishes a pool of candidates who can teach one studio or technical seminar per semester in Landscape Architecture on an as needed basis. This posting does not necessarily reflect a current open position. Single course appointments will be made semester-by-semester, as teaching needs arise. This temporary Lecturer pool is anticipated to remain continuously active through August 2025, after which applications will be cleared from the pool.

Job Description

Employer College of Architecture and Planning

The Department of Landscape Architecture in the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado Denver is seeking a pool of Lecturers from which future appointments will be made. Lecturers selected from this pool will teach in the College's graduate program. Classes taught may range from three to six credit hours and may include lectures, seminars, and studios in all teaching modes (in-person, hybrid, online, remote).

Employment Sponsorship

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

As of 7/1/2023, the University recommends employees be fully vaccinated from COVID-19, but it is not required.

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring rate for a 3-credit hour course is $5,618 and $8,322 for a 6-credit hour course. Final salary is determined based on factors including internal equity, experience, education, and training. This is a part-time appointment and is not eligible for overtime compensation or for group health, life insurance, or retirement benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field, or a terminal degree and expertise in the course content is required.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference given to applicants with prior teaching experience, a record of professional practice in landscape architecture, and a professional degree in a related field.
  • Applicants for courses addressing specific subjects will be considered based on course needs; they must have an advanced degree or proven expertise in the topic.
  • Applicants should have substantive knowledge of the landscape architecture field and/or the subject matter they will teach.
