Overview
Lecturer - Painting & Drawing at the University of Colorado Denver, College of Arts & Media, Visual Arts Department. This pool will be used to fill temporary, non-tenure track Lecturer positions in Painting and Drawing. Appointments are part-time (less than 50%) and made semester-by-semester; assignments may include no more than two courses per semester. This posting does not necessarily reflect a current open position.
ResponsibilitiesTeach undergraduate courses ranging from foundation-level drawing to advanced Painting and Drawing courses, using traditional and contemporary practices.
Participate in faculty jury processes to evaluate portfolios of prospective Illustration students annually in the fall semester.
Exceptional communication skills
Broad knowledge of the history of art, modern, and contemporary art
Ability to work independently
MFA degree in studio art
Strong skills in teaching both objective/perceptual (perspective and figure drawing) and non-objective/conceptual problems
Ability to teach and work with a diverse student body
2-3 years of college-level teaching experience
Multidisciplinary arts practice

Salary and BenefitsThe salary range is established at $5,150 per 3-credit semester course. The University provides a full benefits package. Information on benefits and total compensation is available from University resources.
