- Exemplify excellent customer service when greeting visitors at the front desk to the Advising Suite
- Excellent customer service when responding to live web chat, advising emails, phone calls, and voicemails, and when directing correspondence to the correct individuals in a timely manner.
- Be knowledgeable of functions of the OAA including programs and services provided.
- Assist Academic Advising staff in answering simple frequently asked advising questions from students and families.
- Provide DU undergraduate students with guidance on how to schedule meetings with Academic Advisors and Student Success Coaches.
- Use Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and a multi-line phone system to communicate with staff and other campus partners.
- Design and update bulletin boards for OAA in the Student and Academic Support suite, Community Commons #3100, once a quarter.
- Attend required training
- Meet bi-weekly for a 1:1 check-in with supervisor
- Experience with customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
- Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and conscientiousness when working with students and their families
- Strong communication skills (verbal and electronic)
- Ability to work both autonomously and with a team
- Friendly, positive and professional demeanor
- Reliable, punctual, conscientious, and exercises good judgment
- Flexibility and ability to multi-task
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Student Success Representatives must be an enrolled DU undergraduate or graduate student in good standing with the University.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
- Prior customer service training and experience working in an office environment
- The Office of Academic Advising is in the Community Commons, 3rd floor, suite 3100. Student Success
- Representatives will have a desk and chair at the front of the suite.
- You will have access to a computer and phone to perform the job functions listed above.
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period. Shifts can last anywhere between 2-5 hours.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
- Students are paid $19.29/hour and require 8-10hours per week for fall, winter, and spring quarters with flexibility in scheduling.
