Degree

Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field

Starting salary for first year faculty without teaching experience is $58,000. Salary will be higher for teachers with experience and/or additional qualifications.

Position Overview

Denver Academy seeks a dynamic, student-centered educator to teach Biology, Anatomy & Physiology within a highly differentiated instructional environment. The ideal candidate understands neurodiversity, values relationship-based teaching, and can deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with diverse learning profiles.

Key Teaching Responsibilities
  • Teach High School Biology, Anatomy & Physiology using differentiated instructional strategies tailored to diverse learners.
  • Design and implement a clear scope and sequence for each course, loosely based on National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) standards, ensuring that lessons are engaging, hands-on, and inquiry based.
  • Develop labs and project-based learning experiences aligned with course content.
  • Assess student progress using a variety of assessment methods and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and student support teams to implement accommodations and learning plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, families, and faculty.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and community events.
