Our rapidly growing energy client is hiring an Electrical/Pulsed Power Technician, for a 4-5 month assignment. There is a possibility that it could extend past this period; however, it is not guaranteed.
As an Electrical/Pulsed Power Technician, you will apply your skills to assembly and testing of pulsed power-driven e-beam pumped excimer lasers, initially in a laboratory environment, but progressing to larger scale systems suitable for the use in a power producing inertial fusion energy reactor. We are looking for our technicians to apply their technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact the future of energy!
Responsibilities:
- Assembly, testing and data-taking for prototype developmental components and subsystems relevant to the developmental laser pulsed power systems and to future scale-ups beyond the initial development.
- Perform work required for the construction and installation of electrical systems in an industrial environment.
- Install fixtures, harnesses, capacitors, instrumentation, connectors, electrical cabinets, and other electrical equipment.
- Inspects circuits for specified shielding and grounding.
- Develop, read and interpret electrical designs/schematics and troubleshoot circuit problems.
- Proficiently use multimeters, power supplies, and multi-channel oscilloscopes.
- Safely work with high voltage AC/DC power systems.
- Communicate cross functionally by interacting with mechanical, laser and optical engineering members of the overall laser system.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant, hands on experience working on complex integrated systems including high-voltage power systems.
- Well-versed in laboratory safe high voltage procedures.
- Experience in safe use of toxic and volatile materials.
- Experience in handling of heavy and precision equipment and assembly.
- Practiced in connections and cabling of diagnostics associated with power systems.
- Instrumentation and controls understanding.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee of granted asylum.
