JOB DESCRIPTION
Specific Job duties - Build out vendor scorecards to manage all financial and schedule data from multiple sources. Support the alignment of the Gas Project Managment Portfolio and what work can happen and when.
NOTE:
This position maps to our Engineering classification and agencies. This position is intended for program oversight roles requiring technical experience such as engineering or construction. Responsible for the coordination, implementation, and execution of programs that may apply to multiple projects, disciplines or areas. Manages programs and orchestrates the results to achieve a broad program goal. Plan, facilitate and monitors existing programs and may be responsible for development and implementation of new programs from inception through delivery ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
Defines and reports program status, issues, adherence to program requirements and tracks success metrics. Identifies and monitors areas of risk. Continuously seeks opportunities to improve cost, performance and schedule. Facilitates communication and coordination among projects and departments. Manages internal and external stakeholder engagement, performance and satisfaction. Maintains awareness of trends, business conditions, process and practices impacting component projects or programs.
Adheres to standard project management and contract management methodologies and reporting techniques. Proficiency in MS Office.
Job Details and Requirements Section
1. Explain what the scope of the work/project is? Project Overview, deliverables (what is this person responsible for).
This role supports the Gas side of Xcel Energy, specifically the Transmission Project Management and Construction Management teams. The individual will oversee a portfolio of 150+ annual projects valued at ~$120 million and assist in aligning efforts across external vendors (engineering, construction, inspection, land rights) and internal teams. Responsibilities include performance tracking (financial, schedule, quality, and safety), scorecard/report creation, and portfolio-level reporting for leadership.
2. What does a typical day look like?
· Pulling and aggregating vendor data (cost, schedule, performance)
· Creating variance reports and performance scorecards
· Interfacing with external vendors and internal PMs
· Using Excel for complex functions (e.g., VLOOKUPs, formulas)
· Pulling reports from SAP
· Reporting to executive leadership on portfolio progress
Candidate Detail Section
