Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to operations (troubleshooting, debottlenecking, process optimization, maintenance projects, Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance, Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) participation, DOT compliance, etc.).
- Develop scope‑of‑work/for‑bid packages for engineering, construction, and commissioning activities; track/forecast costs and milestone schedules; communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Size and specify mechanical equipment (separators, filters, tanks, heat exchangers, air coolers, pumps, compressors, treaters, dehydrators); select piping materials, diameters, and thicknesses; size relief devices, control valves, and regulators.
- Interpret and design Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Plot Plans, Piping Plans, and Isometrics.
- Develop process simulations and material & energy balances using Pro Max for Cryogenic gas plants (Dehydration and Amine systems).
- Possess knowledge of midstream process controls and instrumentation, midstream gas gathering and processing operations, and relevant codes and standards (API, ASME B31.3/4/8, NFPA, etc.).
- Complete projects through the entire lifecycle: feasibility studies, Front End Loading (FEL) estimates, detailed engineering, design, scope, bid, construction, commissioning, as‑built drawings, and pre‑startup safety reviews.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external team members (safety, environmental, operations, construction, commercial, land/ROW, contractors).
- Act with integrity, accountability, initiative, and respect in all correspondence and tasks.
- Seek opportunities to learn, develop, and maximize value to the business unit.
- Continuously review assets to enhance safety, mechanical reliability, operational flexibility, and capacity.
- Ensure all Targa design, construction, safety, and environmental standards and regulations are satisfied.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
- 3–5 years of experience as a project engineer and/or process engineer in natural gas plants, construction, and/or operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interface with all levels within and outside the company.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- 5–10 years of experience in natural gas plants processing, construction, or operations.
- Experience with acid gas handling and process equipment.
- Process simulation and pipeline modeling experience with HYSYS, Pro Max, or similar.
- Experience with rotating equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- 5+ years of experience in project engineering, process engineering, and/or project management.
- Work in changing climate and plant environments.
- Work in close quarters (kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, standing).
- Follow all PPE guidelines (eye protection, footwear, hard hat, etc.).
- Require frequent standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms.

Benefits& Compensation
Targa Resources offers a comprehensive benefit program that includes medical, dental, vision, disability, life, 401(k) plan with match, education reimbursement, annual bonus plan, paid time off, and other benefits. Anticipated Salary Range: $120,000–$160,000.
