We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer with a background or focus in hands‑on electrical work for our Mechanical Engineering Practice in Denver, CO. The start date for this position is January 2026 or beyond; earlier start dates are not considered. In this role, you will work as part of a team applying fundamental principles of mechanical engineering, often with key electrical considerations, to solve difficult technical problems for our clients.
You will be expected to grow in the key aspects of consulting, including continued development of technical expertise, the ability to synthesize arguments and positions from vast amounts of information, and effective spoken and written communications.
- Communicating effectively with other engineers, managers, clients and administrative professionals
- Managing and executing specific projects related to a variety of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering applications, including product testing in the laboratory and evaluation of components during site and field visits
- Designing and implementing custom experimental methods to address unique problems related to mechanical or electrical performance
- Performing technical evaluations and analysis to prepare written reports and presentations
- Performing field inspections and conducting hands‑on failure analysis for litigation matters
- Marketing the firm’s technical capabilities to clients and the scientific community
- Participating in office activities (monthly office meetings, learning lunches, etc.) to foster a collaborative work environment; this is not a remote position and applicants should expect to work primarily from the Denver, Colorado location
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics (Ph.D. is required; candidates within 6 months of completing their Ph.D. will also be considered, with employment contingent on Ph.D. completion)
- Strong background in experimental mechanical and/or electrical testing or hands‑on experience
- Strong ability to distill complex technical information and present it effectively to a wide range of audiences with varying technical backgrounds
- Interest in collaborating and working with multidisciplinary teams within and across our various practices
- Desire and drive to eventually manage large projects in terms of technical direction, staffing, budget, and client interactions
- Willing to travel, often on short notice, and sometimes for extended periods of time
- Ability and desire to become a Licensed Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing required
