The opportunity

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company, seeks an experienced Senior Wastewater Process Engineer to join our team in one of our major Canadian offices. Lead process engineering elements for wastewater treatment projects spanning planning, design, construction and operations. Develop the wastewater treatment area of our core Water practice and mentor junior professionals.

Job responsibilities
  • Lead process planning, analysis, optimization and design activities for wastewater treatment facilities
  • Support cost estimating, specifications and contract document preparation
  • Lead studies, assessments, preliminary and detailed design, and commissioning activities
  • Support project pursuits and business development activities, including proposal preparation
  • Contribute to marketing through conference presentations
What you’ll do

This high-profile role requires leadership internally at Associated Engineering and externally with clients. Strong technical skills are needed to develop the wastewater treatment area of our core Water practice and mentor professionals.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering from an accredited university
  • Graduate degree in environmental engineering with wastewater treatment process-based thesis research (preferred)
  • Eligibility for professional licensing with applicable provincial association (e.g., PEO, APEGBC, APEGGA)
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience
  • Experience with treatment facility process simulators (e.g., Bio Win, GPSX) and wastewater/recycle stream characterization programs
  • Experience with process stress-testing programs and treatment performance evaluation
  • Development of process designs and evaluation of process alternatives across unit processes
  • Experience in a consulting engineering environment
  • Effective project leadership, management and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented with experience collaborating with managers, engineers, and operations staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Client-service orientation with ability to understand client needs
  • Active participation in conferences or as a speaker
