Job Description
Salary: $95,000 - $130,000 + Incentive Compensation
Applicants must possess current US Work Authorization, and not require employer-sponsored VISA support.
Iconergy seeks to add an ASHRAE BEMP certified energy engineer to our energy consulting team. The successful candidate will lead energy modeling projects and support Iconergy's senior engineers in project development by gathering data from on-site audits, performing engineering calculations for efficiency and facility improvement measures.
You will work on new and retrofit projects that improve facility operations, especially energy and/or water efficiency. Our projects also incorporate renewable energy whenever possible. The projects often address the following systems: HVAC, controls, water fixtures, lighting, ancillary systems and equipment (distributed generation, cooking kitchens, pools, etc.), and renewable energy (solar PV, solar thermal, etc.) systems and water metering systems. These projects improve the occupancy conditions inside the facilities while reducing operating and maintenance costs and the use of natural resources.
A day in the life of the successful candidate:
- Undertake whole building energy modeling and design analysis for high performance metrics, LEED, code, etc.
- Research new and existing technologies for application in the built environment.
- Provide LEED strategy and advice, particularly around energy and IEQ aspects.
- Analyze efficiency measures for utility savings.
- Perform energy modeling with energy plus software.
- Assist in preparation of audit reports and other client communications.
- Communicate daily with Iconergy staff to review the status of your work.
The successful candidates background will look something like this:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering. Other degrees may be considered with appropriate work experience.
- 5-7 years of work experience in HVAC design, energy engineering, or similar consulting engineering work.
- Prior energy audit and energy modeling experience required.
- LEED Accredited Professional
- ASHRAE BEMP certification (required)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel VBA, AutoCAD/Revit, and energy modeling software (eQUEST, Trane Trace, Energy Plus).
- Understanding of building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, structural).
- Experience with energy/water efficiency and renewable energy systems a plus.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication (written and oral) in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
The ideal candidate will also fulfill the following:
- Pass NCIC background check (required).
- Pass an initial drug test and subsequent random drug tests (required).
- Hold a valid drivers license and provide your own mode of transportation (required).
