are you an experienced process engineer ready to take your career to the next level? Canusa epc is seeking a process engineer lead to lead projects in the oil and gas sector. This full‑time, in‑person position is located at our downtown denver, co office.

job overview

as the process engineer lead, you will serve as the primary client‑facing representative, mentor junior and intermediate engineers, evaluate new technologies, establish canusa epc design standards, participate in quality audits and design reviews with customers and vendors, and represent the company at customer sites, events, and training. Your contributions will drive innovation, optimize processes, and ensure project excellence.

minimum qualifications
  • accredited degree in a related field (e.g., chemical, petroleum engineering).
  • 10+ years of related work experience (ms degree may count for 2 years).
  • active professional engineer (pe) licensure in the united states.
  • cryogenic, refrigeration, amine, and dehydration system experience.
  • extensive technical expertise and experience in the oil, natural gas, and/or chemical industries.
  • strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor staff.
  • ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • strong analytical and decision‑making skills, and ability to perform complex engineering design evaluations and resolve issues.
  • knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., api, asme, dot).
  • experience with process simulation software (e.g., bre promax, aspentech hysys).
  • ability to engage with multiple projects simultaneously and successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments.
  • strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • a valid driver’s license.
  • a valid passport and eligibility to travel to canada.
responsibilities
  • develop process engineering studies and basis of design documents, and author technical reports.
  • develop new process simulation models and update existing models.
  • develop pfds, hmbs, and p&ids.
  • perform psv calculations and sizing, including relief header system analysis.
  • define equipment specifications and conduct equipment sizing efforts.
  • review vendor documentation and monitor vendor progress and conformity to design specifications.
  • participate in project pha meetings and address findings and recommendations.
  • participate in project meetings, communicate effectively with project team members, vendors and customers.
  • interface with customer team including engineering and operations personnel.
  • work with, guide and support junior and intermediate engineers.
  • conduct on‑site surveys to gather field data.
  • support sales and business development efforts by contributing to project proposals and engineering estimates.
  • participate in company‑wide and department meetings, communicate with supervisors and managers.
  • understand and practice canusa epc safety standards and quality standards while performing business‑related services.
language skills
  • oral communication—speaks clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills, and conducts meetings.
  • written communication—edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and can read and interpret written information.
reasoning ability

ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

physical demands

individuals may need to sit or stand as required. May require walking on level surfaces throughout the day, reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as necessary to file documents or store materials. work environment

the work environment may require travel in north america and visits to job sites where use of ppe is required. For the most part, the employee will be subject to ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment found in a typical office environment.
