As a Staff Structural – Transmission Line Engineer you will provide design engineering and analysis on transmission scopes, support large, extensive 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, and work on emerging technologies such as HVDC and 765kV. You will collect and assimilate data, prepare calculations, develop recommendations for equipment and materials, and manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements while maintaining positive client relations.

• Apply department design guides, standards, and engineering codes.
• Consistently apply Black & Veatch quality program and provide guidance to others.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables and calculations.
• Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderate to complex projects.
• Assist with business development activities and client focus.
• Lead knowledge sharing and innovation within the division.
• Support performance management and administrative responsibilities as applicable.

• Strong PLS CADD experience and proficiency.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and design guides.
• Prior client interaction experience with relationship building for business opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with design of utility‑scale electrical transmission systems.
• Structural design of transmission steel structures and foundations.
• Basic structural steel and concrete analysis using 3D software.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, etc.).
