Position: Pipeline Integrity Engineer (#3631)

Primary Purpose

To manage pipeline integrity projects, O&M projects, and small capital projects. Provide technical support in all areas of pipeline systems and serve as a technical resource to the company in support of projects and compliance with regulations and company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, management, and reporting of multiple capital and maintenance projects, including new pipeline construction, replacement, inline inspection, integrity remediation, pressure testing, compression, automation, controls, measurement, corrosion, gas processing, interconnects, and encroachments.
  • Develop project scope documents, and track, manage, and report scope changes.
  • Manage multiple contractors and consultants, including inspectors, engineering consultants, surveyors, material suppliers, general contractors, NDE contractors, line stopping, hot tapping, compression, and ILI consultants.
  • Engineer pipeline and facility designs for small projects such as replacements, re‑routes, pig traps, and minor station piping modifications.
  • Oversee defect assessments and repairs of pipeline defects.
  • Develop project schedules, cost estimates, and budget forecasts with minimal direction.
  • Prepare RFP bid documents, conduct the bid process, analyze bids, and select successful contractors.
  • Provide technical expertise to internal and external customers and support field operations.
  • Provide guidance on industry codes, standards, and federal regulations governing hazardous pipeline design and construction.
  • Develop and update company engineering, material, and equipment specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards and operating procedures.
  • Organize and publish project and compliance documentation into job books for regulatory audits.
  • Participate in large capital project design reviews and industry research groups as required.
  • Collaborate professionally with a wide variety of people.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, demonstrating strong verbal skills and active listening.
  • Maintain dependable work attendance and perform at a fully competent level.
  • Work non‑traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain high regard for personal safety, company assets, employees, and the public.
  • Perform other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified.

Education

Minimum requirement:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering.

Experience and Knowledge
  • Manager’s discretion determines starting field engineering level (III or Sr) based on experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
Competencies, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of natural gas and oil transmission industry, pipeline/facilities design, construction, operation, and testing.
  • Proficiency in basic engineering and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical blueprints, diagrams, flow charts, P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of pipeline design calculations and GIS information.
  • Knowledge of ROW, EHS, and regulatory clearances.
  • Teamwork, adherence to schedules, attention to detail, and work rules.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills for simultaneous projects.
  • Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets.
Physical Demands
  • Minimal safety hazards; general office conditions.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Use hands for typing, handling, talking, listening, standing, reaching, occasional walking, climbing, lifting up to 10–25 pounds.
  • Work in varying weather conditions during field work.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent overnight travel may be required.
  • Overtime and/or extended work hours may be required.
  • Carry a cell phone and be available for contact during working and non‑working hours.
  • Clear drug screen and comprehensive background check (including credit report if required) after an offer is extended.
