Mechanical Engineer at Jacobs

Base Pay Range

$95,200.00/yr - $/yr

Responsibilities

You’ll be charged with designing water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities/processes, and conveyance systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing pump stations, including pipe sizing calculations, pump selection, and process facilities (primary, secondary, tertiary, and solids treatment systems).
  • Handling rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps and blowers, piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for in‑plant process piping, chemical systems, and hydraulic studies.
  • Developing technical writing documentation, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Creating P&’s in coordination with process control engineers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in water/wastewater process mechanical engineering for municipal or industrial clients.
  • Detailed mechanical design experience for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Experience developing P&’s in coordination with process control engineers.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Ideal Skills
  • Hydraulic modeling experience.
  • Experience designing piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for water and wastewater treatment plant process piping (ductile iron, steel, PVC, HDPE, copper, etc.).
  • Design implementation of rotating equipment and process treatment equipment.
  • Design experience developing plans and specifications.
  • Experience with Design‑Build, CMAR/CM‑GC and/or EPC projects.
  • Construction support services for water and wastewater projects or related industries.
