Primary Responsibilities- Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multi‑discipline projects or medium‑sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically involving a large project staff.
- Establish client relations and be involved in business development, marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
- Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
- Implement QA/QC procedures.
- Work on diverse remedial engineering projects that involve a wide range of contaminants (VOCs/SVOCs/metals/PCBs/NAPL) in all types of media (soil/groundwater/sediment/bedrock/abandoned mines, etc.) utilizing innovative remedial technologies (P&T/removal/containment/dredging/ISS/chemical oxidation/bioremediation/capping).
- Lead team of staff engineers in preparation of design deliverables including engineering design reports, construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates and construction schedules with support from HDR’s national practice leads.
- Participate in meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve technical issues and negotiate remedial actions.
- Will also serve as a consultant and supervisor of waste and remedial construction management projects as needed.
- Work independently on technical tasks involving data analysis, interpreting results, and preparing technical reports, plans and specifications.
- Delegate and supervise junior engineers on waste and remediation design components and staff of professionals and technicians on remedial investigations.
- Train and mentor personnel as established by strategic plans.
- A minimum of 10 years of related experience required.
- MSW/CCR facility highly preferred.
- Proven leadership and Project Management skills required.
- Demonstrated understanding of client relationship management and evidence of experience interacting directly with clients higher preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
- Must be detail‑oriented and a team player with great communication, technical writing, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in client marketing and proposal development.
- Demonstrated experience in project development and execution in the Public and Private sectors.
- Experience mentoring and supervising junior engineers.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 7 years related experience.
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience.
- Professional Engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
- MS Office and MS Project experience required (Access experience would be a plus).
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
