Job Summary

This position offers an exciting opportunity to support critical capital projects across multiple power generation facilities in a dynamic, field-focused engineering role. You will serve as a key technical resource and coordinator for emergent and base capital initiatives, working directly with plant operations, reliability teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of generating assets. This role combines hands‑on project execution with strategic planning, requiring strong technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.

You will play a vital role in maintaining plant reliability while contributing to long‑term asset performance improvements and supporting the organization’s transition toward cleaner energy generation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage emergent capital projects at power generation facilities from initiation through closeout.
  • Support development of project scopes, justifications, budgets, and capital request documentation.
  • Assist reliability engineering teams in developing long‑term plans to maintain and improve plant reliability.
  • Manage up to 20 or more smaller projects concurrently while supporting larger base and major capital initiatives.
  • Lead project planning activities, including technical specification development, obtaining equipment quotes, and coordinating bidding processes.
  • Be onsite at plant locations regularly to oversee project execution and attend daily coordination meetings.
  • Oversee contractors executing project tasks in the field and ensure safety, quality, and compliance with scope.
  • Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and installation activities.
  • Work with internal stakeholders including operations, reliability engineering, and maintenance personnel.
  • Interface with external customers such as engineering firms, contractors, and material vendors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project progress, risks, and updates.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation including charters, work scopes, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Utilize document management systems to locate existing plant drawings and documentation.
  • Track project costs, develop budgets, and manage project plans using various tools.
  • Support internal reporting requirements through the capital request process.
Skills
  • Strong project management capabilities including project planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience working with contractors and leading field activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with document management systems for engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Strong initiative and self‑direction.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional team environments.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in engineering, project management, or plant/manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractor work and plant‑based field execution.
  • Previous experience in a power plant, utility, industrial, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting cradle‑to‑grave project management preferred.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
  • Fundamentals of Engineering exam passed or interest in pursuing it preferred.
Pay Rate Range

Min Pay Rate: $42 per hour | Max Pay Rate: $56 per hour USD.
