The purpose of this role is to promote, manage, and oversee safety, security, and environmental compliance at the base level. The position will be responsible for offering guidance for implementation and adherence to MA Safety, Security, Quality, and Training policies and SOPs as well as local, state, and Federal regulations.
The Safety, Security, and Environmental (SSE) Supervisor (Officer) position functions independently from Operations; and serves to provide support to and unbiased oversight of the various Lines of Business (LOBs) and Business Units (BUs) at a given location.
Credibility, consistency, and fairness are paramount to effective safety promotion, advocacy, and accountability.
What you will be doing- Promote Safety Culture: Encourage timely reporting of incidents, hazards, and near misses; lead by example and provide direct feedback.
- Manage Safety & Compliance Programs: Oversee implementation of Menzies Aviation Safety, Security, and Environmental systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct Risk Assessments & Audits: Perform inspections, audits, and risk assessments; recommend corrective actions and monitor their implementation.
- Develop Emergency & Safety Plans: Assist in creating and maintaining emergency response, contingency, and environmental plans; develop briefings and ensure the cascade of SSE‑related bulletins and alerts.
- Investigate & Analyze Incidents: Assist in accident investigations, compile reports, analyze trends, and provide recommendations to improve safety performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess and maintain valid US driver's license.
- Must pass all pre‑employment testing including drug screen, FBI background, employment history, and Customs Seal.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and to write technical reports and correspondence in English.
- Proficiently use computers and related software applications.
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four‑year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The following certifications/training are a plus: 30‑Hour OSHA General Industry, 8‑Hour HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR, Incident Investigation Training, Risk Assessment Training.
- Pay: $26.00‑$27.50 per hour
