Job Description
Benesch is proud to partner with Buffer Springs to offer a Skill Bridge opportunity for transitioning service members who are pursuing or have completed a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline. This full-time, immersive internship is designed to prepare you for a long-term career in construction project leadership.
As a Construction Management Intern through Skill Bridge, you’ll get direct exposure to live infrastructure projects while learning to manage complex construction operations, engage with contractors and agencies, and apply your military leadership skills in a civilian project environment.
You’ll be mentored by industry professionals, trained on client-facing responsibilities, and guided along a clear pathway that can lead to roles such as Construction Representative, Construction Engineer, and Construction Project Manager. Depending on experience and education level, you’ll be aligned with one of several progressive roles within Benesch’s construction group.

Actively transitioning service member eligible for DoD Skill Bridge
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (completed or in progress)
Interest in pursuing professional licensure or certifications (FE, PE, PMP, etc.)
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical submittals
Comfortable working in the field and coordinating with project stakeholders
Valid U.S. driver’s license with clean driving record
You may be aligned to roles such as :
Construction Representative I or II
Construction Engineer I or II
Construction Project Manager I (for more experienced candidates)
