Position Overview: As a mid‑to‑experienced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in HVAC at Henderson Engineers, you will contribute expertise across six market sectors—Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. You will support both traditional mechanical design and the firm’s growing refrigeration needs, collaborating with Henderson Building Solutions to deliver an integrated client experience.
Key Responsibilities- Perform calculations and design basic to advanced engineering systems independently.
- Prepare detailed mechanical layouts, drawings, and schematics.
- Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Research and recommend feasible systems or equipment, evaluating product applicability.
- Assist in developing, establishing, and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers for business development.
- Continuously learn and apply industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.
- Support or lead project coordination activities such as managing emails, coordinating scope and schedule, attending client meetings, ensuring project quality, responding to client questions, and coordinating delivery.
- Act as a resource for training or assisting colleagues.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural engineering (or equivalent experience). 3 years of relevant experience (or 5 years without a degree) for mid‑level; 7 years (or 9 years without a degree) for experienced level.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and HVAC design software (IESVE, Trane Trace).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is desirable and may count toward experience requirements.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Completion of FE exam, LEED and/or WELL accreditation.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design, A&E industry codes, design guides, and standards applicable to a range of projects.
