Overview
RESPEC is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our engineering team in our Denver Colorado office. This opportunity involves working on a range of projects from infrastructure (drainage structures, storage tanks, pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment facilities) to hospitals, schools, and high-profile commercial buildings across the nation. Structural engineers at RESPEC collaborate across multiple offices, supporting a variety of clients with a wide range of projects.
Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis and design to support new construction, structural investigations, and rehabilitations/renovations in collaboration with architects and civil, mechanical, electrical, and other engineers.
- Interpret building codes and standards, prepare structural plans and details, and conduct related construction observations for RESPEC’s structural projects.
- Apply technical knowledge to meet stakeholder expectations and contribute to project success.
Our ideal candidate enjoys working with a team and taking on new challenges and will have the following qualifications:
- MS in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis
- Professional Engineering registration
- Experience in steel, wood, concrete, and precast/prestressed concrete design
- Knowledge of construction practices and methods
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in structural engineering
- Experience with RISA, STAAD, SAP, or similar structural analysis software
- Experience with preparing plans, specifications, and design calculations
- Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Detail-oriented and well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to learn and advance in technical skills and understanding
Preferred Experience /Skills
- Revit experience
- Project management experience and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Experience with review of structural construction
- Interest in continued professional development
Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. The typical salary range for this position is $85,000 to $120,000. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
