• Salary Range: $135,860 - $234,260 (determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant)

Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium, and Rare Earths markets. The M&M Global Business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India, and other project locations around the world.

The project is a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project with a focus on sustaining production, minimise environmental impacts, strengthen long‑term relationships with neighboring communities, and foster local economic development.

In this role, you will provide technical guidance to promote consistency across projects, customers, and business lines. You will provide detailed review and support to capital cost estimates, cash flow, working capital assessments, and to the preparation of estimate documentation. Your recommendations ensure accurate cost estimations and will be essential in driving project profitability and success.

This position is designated as part‑time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

• Provides technical leadership in area of responsibility to ensure consistency in approach and outcomes across projects, customers, and business lines.
• Develops and approves estimate approaches, budgets, and schedules within area of responsibility.
• Provides guidance and reviews all estimates and studies in area of responsibility.
• Performs high‑level confirmation of developed quantities for completeness and reasonableness in area of responsibility.
• Provides guidance in the development and reviews of criteria for development of pricing structure and provides guidance to assure complete and reasonable pricing in area of responsibility.
• Reviews estimates and cost study presentations, comparisons, and reconciliations in area of responsibility. Makes recommendation for approval to more senior management.
• Reviews the recommended contingency ranges and escalation rates to be presented to the project team in area of responsibility. Makes recommendation for approval to more senior management.
• Leads cost studies, trend estimates, and life cycle cost estimates in specialized areas or in specialized discipline area.
• Within area of responsibility, leads team in the identification of risk items, assignment of risk levels to portions of the project work and identification of measures to mitigate risk.
• Takes a lead role in estimate reviews and presentations to project management and senior management in area of responsibility.
