The Associate Principal / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will serve as a discipline leader across multiple projects, combining technical expertise with team leadership and client development. This role involves shaping mechanical design strategy, leading local MEP teams, and strengthening long-term relationships with architects and owners.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and grow local mechanical and MEP design teams
- Act as a primary technical authority for HVAC system selection, engineering, and design
- Develop and maintain relationships with architects, owners, and repeat clients
- Oversee the preparation of HVAC drawings, calculations, specifications, and analyses
- Provide direction and mentorship to mechanical designers and support staff
- Manage project execution, coordination, and delivery within the MEP space
- Participate in construction administration and site observations
- Deliver consistent, high-quality service to both internal teams and external clients
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in MEP consulting and design
- Demonstrated team leadership and project management experience
- Strong client-facing skills and professional communication ability
- In-depth knowledge of building codes and HVAC system design
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent experience
- LEED Accreditation
- Working knowledge of IES-VE or similar analysis tools
- Competitive base salary, typically ranging from $140,000 to $175,000
