About Our ClientOur client is a developer in the mission-critical and data center space, currently advancing a phased, power-first data center campus. The company manages the full scope of electrical and energy infrastructure required to energize the campus, including utility interconnection, substations, onsite generation, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), working directly with serving utilities, generation partners, and grid stakeholders.
Job DescriptionThis role manages the electrical and energy infrastructure required to energize a high-density data center campus, including utility interconnection, substations, transmission/distribution, onsite generation, BESS, switch gear, and controls interfaces. The Electrical & Power Infrastructure Project Manager will lead planning and delivery of utility and behind-the-meter power packages from design through testing and energization, coordinating closely with the serving utility, generation partners, engineering firms, OEMs, and contractors.
The ideal candidate is comfortable owning technical and commercial interfaces across complex power infrastructure and driving grid-readiness and energization timelines on a mission-critical program.
- Lead planning and delivery of utility and behind-the-meter power packages from design through testing and energization
- Coordinate with the serving utility, generation partners, engineering firms, OEMs, contractors, and grid stakeholders
- Manage interconnection milestones, studies, protection requirements, equipment lead times, outages, and energization plans
- Oversee technical and commercial interfaces for substations, transformers, MV/HV switch gear, generators, BESS, UPS, and power-management controls
- Maintain power-package budgets, schedules, risks, procurement logs, and executive reporting
- Coordinate relay settings, SCADA/controls, metering, commissioning, and operational handoff requirements
- Identify long-lead and grid-readiness risks early and drive mitigation plans
- Ensure compliance with applicable utility, ERCOT, NERC, NEC, NFPA, and local requirements as applicable
- 8+ years delivering substations, generation, utility-scale energy, or mission-critical electrical infrastructure
- Experience coordinating utility interconnection and energization activities
- Knowledge of MV/HV equipment, protection and controls, commissioning, and long-lead procurement
- Strong project management and multi-party coordination skills
- Experience with ERCOT and Texas utilities
- Data center, BESS, reciprocating-engine generation, or microgrid experience
- Electrical engineering degree and PE license
- PMP or utility project-management credential
Electrical engineering degree preferred (PE license a plus).
