A Brief Overview

An Intern will work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office. This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy. Specific assignments and project work vary depending on the market segments. The Environmental Services group is responsible for the full life cycle of infrastructure development, from permitting new projects to the remediation of contaminated soil, groundwater and emerging contaminants. This includes support for municipal, state and federal government clients, along with clients in the transportation, manufacturing, industrial, oil and gas, chemical and utility sectors.

Our Sustainability team provides sustainable design and construction consulting services across facility and infrastructure projects including but not limited to LEED, Envision, SITES, and embodied carbon consulting.

• Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.

• Assist with responses to general questions.

• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.

• Present solutions to concerns.

• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.

• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.

• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.

• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized, accredited program required.

• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.

• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.

• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

• Demonstrated leadership skills.

• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

$ Hourly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.

Interns may participate in our 401(k) retirement program provided plan eligibility requirements are met. Burns & McDonnell's sick leave program includes the paid sick leave entitlements provided under the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA).
