Job Summary

Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our Key Bank communities. The Private Client Banker (PCB) is part of the Key Private Client Program and will focus on the entire client relationship with a plan‑based approach to financial advice. As a PCB, you will deliver and refer appropriate financial solutions to Key Bank’s client base with up to $2 M in investable assets.

The PCB helps new and existing clients achieve confidence in their financial wellness by assessing their needs, gathering and documenting client data, and offering appropriate products and services. PCBs identify products and services to meet client needs and refer to appropriate sales professionals in retail, investment services, private bank, mortgage, or business banking. Functions
  • Embodies a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and realizing the impact we can have on their day, personally, professionally, and financially.
  • Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations and provide effective and customized financial wellness recommendations; deliver on client solutions through referrals of investment and insurance products.
  • Consistently attain individual activity, behavior, and outcome goals and expectations.
  • Build a client referral pipeline via identification and development of internal and external centers of influence; employ a disciplined approach to prospecting and document calling efforts.
  • Develop and maintain an in‑depth knowledge of private client products and services, as well as competitive products, to ensure meaningful financial wellness conversations with clients.
  • Open personal and business accounts (consumer checking, small business, various deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, certificates of deposit, etc.).
  • Develop strong partnerships with branch teammates and line‑of‑business partners through in‑person meetings, focusing on client acquisition and deepening current client relationships; effectively manage internal and external centers of influence.
  • Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures and policies, including appropriate documentation of client interactions.
  • Support branch operations, including assisting with client transactions on the teller line as needed.
  • Participate in and occasionally facilitate in‑person morning huddles and end‑of‑day debriefs.
  • Work on Saturdays as directed by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; duties may change at any time with or without notice.
  • Comply with all Key Bank policies and procedures, including acting professionally, ethically, and in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Work Experience
  • Experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources in insurance and investment products (required)
  • Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele‑consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking (required)
  • Comfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objections, and asking fact‑finding questions with the goal of being helpful (preferred)
  • Interpersonal interaction skills and ability to build rapport quickly (required)
  • Demonstrated experience with influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence (required)
  • Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products, including Word, Excel, etc.) (required)
  • Working knowledge of digital technology (mobile, apps, web‑based browsing) and ability to educate clients on digital platforms and capabilities within Key (required)
