- Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various federal tax compliance and consulting services to industry‑specific clients.
- Lead client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters with various clients ranging from middle‑market to multinational.
- Consult on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740.
- Research various tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to the client.
- Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complicated matters in state and local, high‑net‑worth, international, research and development, credits and incentives areas.
- Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
- Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong internal and external relationships to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.
- Invest in professional development individually and through firm‑wide learning and development programs.
- Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or law, or a similar degree in business; an advanced or master’s degree is desirable.
- CPA or JD required.
- Eight (8) or more years’ experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.
- Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project‑management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, see the “big picture” as well as details, exhibit ethical knowledge and a sense of urgency, and commitment to quality and timely project completion.
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
The compensation range for this role is $122,300 to $231,870. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
