A growing, mid-sized construction company is seeking an experienced accounting leader to manage full-cycle accounting, oversee a small team, and support company operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, improving processes, and partnering closely with leadership. This opening is part of a succession plan as the current Controller is retiring. It's a rare opportunity to be trained by the person you will be replacing!

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all GL functions, monthly/annual close, financial reporting, and audits
• Manage revenue recognition, accruals, reconciliations, and cash flow
• Oversee payroll, AP/AR, project billings, collections, and vendor compliance
• Administer benefits, insurance, licensing, and tax filings
• Develop KPIs and implement standardized accounting procedures
• Train and mentor a 3–4 person accounting team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry
• Advanced Excel; experience with Viewpoint Vista or Spreadsheet Server is a plus
• Proven ability to streamline processes and manage multiple priorities
