The team, led by the Director of Loan Administration, provides pre-underwriting packaging, closing, and loan servicing resources to support borrowers throughout the loan life cycle. The Pre-Underwriting and Closing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring loan files move efficiently and accurately from application through closing. This position is responsible for reviewing loan documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to underwriting, coordinating with borrowers and internal teams to resolve outstanding items, and supporting the closing process to ensure a smooth, compliant, and timely transaction.

This role operates with a high degree of independence, serves as a technical resource to the Lending Team, and contributes to the continuous improvement of loan servicing processes and documentation.

The Pre-Underwriting and Closing Specialist role requires strong borrower-facing communication, technical acumen, and genuine commitment to our mission.

CEF offers a hybrid work environment with a blend of in-person connection and opportunities to be remote. Employees must be Colorado-based and can expect to travel to our Denver headquarters a minimum of one day per week to maintain on-site cross-functional collaboration with peers and leaders.

On a given day, your work will include these essential duties:

• Review incoming loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Required Document List (RDL) guidelines.
• Identify documentation gaps or discrepancies and coordinate directly with borrowers, loan officers, and third parties to resolve them in a timely manner.
