Job SummaryThe Government Accounting Manager leverages their strong understanding of CAS, FAR, and GAAP to support and advise the corporate accounting team on proper cost accounting, in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements associated with Voyager’s government contracts. The role ensures execution of government submissions, maintains compliance, and serves as the primary point of contact with government auditors. The position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Responsibilities- Manage and monitor cost accounting practices to adhere to CAS and FAR regulations.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documents, including Provisional Billing Rates (P ), Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRP), Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS), and CAS Disclosure Statements.
- Lead the company’s responses to government audits and coordinate corrective actions.
- Provide strategic regulatory support on compliance arising from FAR, CAS, and other agency supplements.
- Support business functions with compliance and system assessments, including DFARS 252.242‑7005 assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, business, economics, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in government cost accounting, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience negotiating complex FAR and CAS issues with government agencies.
- Certified Public Accountant license preferred but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands and deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ERP experience required, preference for Net Suite.
