We are an intergovernmental self‑insurance pool in Colorado seeking a skilled part‑time County Administration/Management Consultant to support our member counties in minimizing liability claims. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of county operations, legal statutes, and possess the expertise to present informative seminars on various administrative topics. This position plays a critical role in promoting effective governance and compliance within county operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Member Counties in reducing liability claims through comprehensive analysis and strategic advice.
  • Deliver seminars on critical topics, including:
  • Powers and Duties of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC)
  • Open Meeting Act (Sunshine Law)
  • Statutory Duties and Responsibilities of Elected Officials
  • Contract Bidding and Bonding Requirements
  • Budgeting and Financial Restrictions on the County and BOCC
  • Provide guidance and support in the recruitment process for County Administrators and other key personnel.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in public administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in risk management or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to independently conduct detailed analyses and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Familiarity with county statutes and intergovernmental operations preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong public speaking and seminar facilitation skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on compliance and risk reduction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and presentation.

Salary Range

The salary range for this part‑time position is $50.00 to $66.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.
