We are an intergovernmental self‑insurance pool in Colorado seeking a skilled part‑time County Administration/Management Consultant to support our member counties in minimizing liability claims. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of county operations, legal statutes, and possess the expertise to present informative seminars on various administrative topics. This position plays a critical role in promoting effective governance and compliance within county operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Member Counties in reducing liability claims through comprehensive analysis and strategic advice.
- Deliver seminars on critical topics, including:
- Powers and Duties of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC)
- Open Meeting Act (Sunshine Law)
- Statutory Duties and Responsibilities of Elected Officials
- Contract Bidding and Bonding Requirements
- Budgeting and Financial Restrictions on the County and BOCC
- Provide guidance and support in the recruitment process for County Administrators and other key personnel.
- Strong background in public administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in risk management or related fields.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to independently conduct detailed analyses and provide actionable recommendations.
- Familiarity with county statutes and intergovernmental operations preferred.
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong public speaking and seminar facilitation skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on compliance and risk reduction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and presentation.
- Flexible work arrangements including hybrid options

The salary range for this part‑time position is $50.00 to $66.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.
