Policy Advisor III – State of Colorado

Due to the State's current hiring freeze, this position will not be filled until January 1 or after.

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 5PM ON MONDAY, JANUARY 12, 2026

This position is considered 100% Remote but may still be required to report to a specific office at the direction of the supervisor.

This position is Term Limited and currently set to expire on January 15, 2028. The applicant selected for this position will be required to sign a waiver of retention right.

Salary Range

Hourly: $28.30 – $36.79
Biweekly: $2,264.31 – $2,943.23
Monthly: $4,906.00 – $6,377.00

Job Description

The Policy Advisor serves as the Office of New American's implementation lead for all policy efforts related to New Americans. This position plays a key role on ONA’s External Relations Team, a newly-developed team leading communications, policy, and external engagement efforts. The position will perform the following key functions:

  • Policy Research and Analysis
    This position is the policy coordinator for ONA. This position develops ONA’s policy strategy and assists the ONA Director with the Office’s dotted line to the Governor’s policy office and the associated responsibilities. This position actively monitors state legislation, prepares legislative budget impact statements in collaboration with ONA’s Operations Manager, responds to requests from members of the General Assembly, makes recommendations to Office, Department and Governor’s office leadership…
