The Elite Stylist is responsible for engaging guests, consulting on hair care needs, recommending products and services, and delivering professional services that emphasize the guest’s total look. The role supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) and focuses on performance (service sales and productivity), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). This position requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the aptitude to learn and communicate product knowledge.

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, hair treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed a sales goal of $1,900 average weekly sales and other productivity targets by delivering exceptional guest service and contributing to store retail and service sales goals.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed about new industry trends, products, and services and be knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate recommendations.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total‑store, well‑rounded experience.
• Establish professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster collaborative guest service.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings to enable continuous professional development.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule repeat services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to maintain guest readiness.
• Maintain store operational standards, including cleanliness of salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, and break area.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant work experience is required.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, hair color, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing services.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed to perform technical work.
• Ability to recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and build clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

The pay range for this position is the higher of $19.29 - $23.60 per hour or services pay for the workweek pursuant to the Company’s Services Compensation Plan.
