About The Work Unit:

The Prevention Services Division works with public and private partners across Colorado to improve the health of all Coloradans. Division professionals develop, review, implement and evaluate public health interventions proven to promote healthy living, prevent chronic disease, protect against injury and ensure access to health care and opportunities for a healthy lifestyle. The Division is committed to the professional development, collaborative effort and sustained wellness of its workforce.

The Office of Suicide Prevention serves as the lead entity for suicide prevention, intervention supports, and postvention efforts in Colorado, collaborating with communities statewide to reduce suicide through health policy, legislation, public awareness and education, training, assessments, and intervention programs.

What You Will Be Doing

This position operates independently and is accountable for coordinating, monitoring and outreach regarding suicide prevention initiatives related to lethal means safety, working‑age men, service members, veterans, and their families. Serves as the Office of Suicide Prevention’s subject matter expert on suicide prevention initiatives for these communities, applying professional standards and guidelines on best practices to provide technical guidance to grantees and stakeholders working on suicide prevention initiatives.

The position provides staff support and leadership to the Colorado Service Members, Veterans and Their Families Workgroup and the Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide Among Service Members, Veterans and Their Families.…
