Advanced Practice Provider – Cardiology Electrophysiology
The role of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is to contribute to the clinical, educational, and research missions of the organization. May provide clinical care in the inpatient or outpatient setting, telehealth, and triage. Provides regular health assessments, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions and formulate plans that include treatment, psychosocial support, health education, and counseling. In addition, the role will collaborate with other health professionals in assessing and managing health problems, maintaining continuity of care, and coordinating community services.
Contributes to the development, maintenance, evaluation, and change of the health care delivery system.
Responsibilities
- Provides care for adult patients in the Department of Medicine electrophysiology clinic.
- Performs new and follow-up visits gathering data from initial evaluation, develops and documents an assessment and plan of care.
- Generates progress notes with each outpatient visit. Keeps problem sheets up to date. Maintains communication with referring physicians and other health care providers.
- Coordinate care with cardiac device clinic, including coverage of device clinic when needed.
- Is expert resource for providers and patients regarding electrophysiology questions or issues.
- Generates and executes evaluation and management plan in urgent circumstances.
- Perform clinic-based procedures, including implantation of implantable loop recorders and cardioversion.
Essential Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program required.
Work Experience: 1 year of recent and related experience as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred. Experience in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology preferred.
Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Colorado PA license or APRN license and prescriptive authority. DEA Registration. PA or NP certification by a national certifying body. Current CPR/BLS certification is required. ACLS or PALS certification if applicable for specific practice area.
