Position SummaryMental Health Therapist provides comprehensive psychological and behavioral case management services within a continuum of high to low intensity services designed to improve or maintain each mental health consumer’s abilities to function in the community. Assesses, monitors, and follows up with consumers to meet basic needs and move toward recovery. Responsible for all clinical documentation of consumer interactions.
Salary Range- MHT II: $30.05/hr
- LPC/LMFT/LCSW: $36.14‑$36.64/hr
- Language Differential - $2.50/hr for bilingual proficiency in Spanish & ASL
- Provide crisis evaluations/problem identification, crisis interventions, and individual therapy to people seeking crisis services.
- Refer consumers to appropriate outpatient and inpatient services.
- Provide some case management and coordination services to consumers as needed.
- Communicate with and help coordinate consumer's use of other Organization programs and outside community resources.
- Working with psychiatrists, nurses, and other professionals, coordinate medication/medicinal needs of consumers with medical sources.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with Organization standards.
- Participate in team meetings, in‑services, and supervisory sessions as required.
- Maintain a trauma‑informed environment of wellbeing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Masters Degree in psychology, social work, or other related human service degree. Licensure preferred (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist). - Experience:
One year experience in mental health or human services preferred. - Skills and
Competencies:
Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices; knowledge of methods of psychotherapy; knowledge of community resources; ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately; familiarity with the DSM IV and diagnostic techniques; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work flexible and on‑call hours; ability to work independently, flexibly, and quickly adapt to changing situations;
ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans; must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them.
Assist with program supervision of students/volunteers as determined appropriate.
Typical Physical DemandsAbility to sit, stand, bend and reach, drive, operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, facsimile, copier/printer, and other business machines. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
Typical Mental DemandsAbility to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them.
Working ConditionsMay require occasional evening, weekend or on‑call hours. Some local travel depending on position.
