A Part-Time 40% FTE Faculty Clinical Instructor position is available for an independent and motivated individual to study the genotype, phenotype and pathogenesis of inherited cardiomyopathies in the collaborative group of Luisa Mestroni, MD, and Matthew Taylor, MD, PhD (Cardiovascular Institute and Dept. of Medicine, University of Colorado Denver – Anschutz Medical Campus). The group utilizes molecular genetics, bioinformatics, and functional genomics to determine molecular mechanisms caused by mutant genes identified by our group that cause inherited cardiomyopathies.
The research group routinely use large databases,
-omics repositories, cellular models (induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes and isolated cardiomyocytes) and animal models to address our scientific questions. This position focuses in particular on coordination of large patient datasets, biobanks and biorepositories, and bioinformatics. In addition, we have strong interest in preclinical research by connecting our basic science discoveries with human medicine.
