Work Units

1. The Colorado Environmental Public Health Tracking (COEPHT) program, housed within CDPHE’s Division of Environmental Health and Sustainability, collects, integrates, analyzes, and disseminates non-infectious disease and environmental data.

2. The Air Quality and Health Unit (AQuAH) is a work unit within the Toxicology and Environmental Epidemiology Office.

Summary of Position

The purpose of these positions will be to conduct health education, outreach, and program promotion. This includes developing and distributing outreach materials, evaluating the effectiveness of outreach activities, and managing web content. These positions will work closely with team members to use plain language and best practices for data presentation and communication of findings.

Program/Unit

Specific Duties
  • COEPHT Program:
    • Supporting the COEPHT Public Portal.
    • Engaging stakeholders regarding COEPHT activities and data products.
    • Work with local health departments, COEPHT analysts, work groups, and the national Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) program and other EPHT grantees on health education and program promotion planning and activities.
  • AQuAH Unit:
    • Provide direct outreach and health education to individuals who contact our Toxcall line and Oil and Gas Health Information and Response Program.
    • Coordinate across multiple groups working on air quality outreach and education across the Department.
    • Support TEEO outreach events including conference booths, webinars, and environmental health workshops.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience Only: Five (5) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position such as health education, health promotion, marketing, health or environmental-related project coordination, or a related field.

OR

Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to five (5) years such as a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public health, environmental science, health education, marketing, or a related field and one (1) year of related experience such as health education, health promotion, marketing, or a related field.

This experience and education must be substantiated within the Work Experience & Education section of your application.

Conditions of Employment
  • A pre-employment background check
  • Occasional travel up to three (3) times per year. Will not exceed more than 10% of the time
  • This position will have hybrid workplace options available but will still be required to report to the listed address at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • Office hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Extended hours during the evening or the weekend MAY be required by business needs.
