Compensation: $34.11 – $42.63 per hour

Summary

Pima Medical Institute’s Denver campus is seeking a qualified and dedicated Respiratory Therapy Instructor to join our team. In this role, you’ll deliver engaging instruction, support student success, and help shape the next generation of respiratory care professionals. This is a part-time position offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

As a Respiratory Therapy Instructor, you will focus on comprehensive instruction and student mentorship:

  • Develop and deliver daily lesson plans, lectures, labs, and hands‑on demonstrations.
  • Plan instruction to meet curriculum goals and individual student needs.
  • Monitor student attendance and report consecutive absences to the Associate Director; submit weekly attendance reports.
  • Track student success rates and implement strategies to reduce withdrawals; maintain an 80% success rate across all classes.
  • Meet with students to encourage retention and academic progress.
  • Maintain accurate grade records and submit final grades each semester.
  • Evaluate student performance and adjust instruction to support learning outcomes.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and clinic visits.
  • Advise students on the Respiratory Therapy curriculum.
  • May assist with externship coordination for Respiratory Therapy students.
Compensation & Benefits (Colorado EPEWA Compliant)

This part-time position (approx. 30 hours/week) offers competitive hourly pay and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package:

  • Hourly Pay Range: $34.11 – $42.63
  • Health Coverage:

  • Retirement: 401(k) with 10% employer match and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) (eligibility: 1,000 hours/year).

Minimum Qualifications (CoARC And ABHES Compliance)

Applicants must meet the professional experience and educational requirements below:

  • Education (Required):
    • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate degree minimum) recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA, OR
    • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant job‑related training and experience for those who are not graduates from an accredited program in the field.
  • Experience (Professional):
    At least three (3) years of occupational (clinical) experience in hospital or healthcare settings.
  • Credentialing (Required):
    • Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
    • Must possess a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
    • Compliance with all local, state, and federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Experience (Teaching):
    One year of teaching experience in an accredited respiratory therapy program (preferred).
  • Skills:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer applications.
