Volunteers of America Colorado is a nonprofit, faith‑based organization dedicated to helping those in need transform their lives. Through over 50 distinct human service programs, they serve more than 140,000 vulnerable Colorado ans each year, including housing and emergency shelter, hunger and nutrition services, and many other community support programs.
Position OverviewThe Resident Service Coordinator at Sunset Park is directly responsible for service provision and housing assistance for residents in the Affordable Housing portfolio. This program serves individuals in a supportive housing model who were chronically unhoused, including those with physical or mental health disabilities. Service modalities include Trauma‑Informed Care, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and Critical Time Intervention.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct needs‑based assessments and provide case management services.
- Engage in community outreach, resource navigation, and support housing retention.
- Facilitate connections to income resources and public benefits.
- Mediation with landlords and coordination with service providers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Empower residents to live independently, develop life skills, and participate in health, wellness, and educational programs.
- Maintain existing partnerships and establish new ones to expand opportunities and resources for residents.
- Attend meetings and trainings within the community.
Physical Requirements
- Must be willing to use a vehicle for service provision.
- Work primarily in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting.
Full Time, 40 hours per week
Position Pay Range$21.00 – $24.00 per hour, starting pay based on experience

- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, behavioral science, social work, or a closely related field; or 2 years related experience.
- At least one full year of experience working with chronically unhoused populations and/or people with mental health or physical disabilities.
- Colorado driver’s license and state‑mandated automobile insurance.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain first aid, AED, and CPR certifications.
- Criminal and civil background checks within 30 days of hire.
- Mental Health experience preferred.
- Case Management experience preferred.
- Crisis intervention experience preferred.
- Expert written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High competency with Microsoft Office suite and cloud‑based applications.
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organization and case‑management skills.
