This position is responsible for performing high quality IVF laboratory medical procedures. The embryologist consults and advises other staff regarding IVF laboratory procedures and outcomes, and human assisted reproductive techniques (ART). The embryologist works in a collaborative relationship with the IVF Laboratory Supervisor and other team members, as well as with other Spring Fertility departments as needed. The Embryologist is required to rotate in Andrology/Endocrinology laboratory as needed to cover or help as needed.
The Embryologist position requires the candidate to be proficient and independent in all basic and advanced IVF laboratory procedures.
- Provide high quality service to couples seeking treatment for infertility, including diagnostic and therapeutic services.
- Conduct the full range of basic and advanced ART laboratory procedures under the direction of the Laboratory Director.
- Coordinate work with the Laboratory Director for effective use of resources.
- Collaborate with the IVF Laboratory Director and the IVF team to proactively identify evolving best practices and areas for improvement in laboratory processes and department operations.
- Comply with regulations and laws for human ART in the U.S. and California, adhere to SPRING Fertility policy and rules, and ensure work is performed in accordance with ASRM standards.
- Follow laboratory and clinic SOPs and comply with all safety policies and standards.
- Meet quality standards and numerical goals for laboratory procedures as set by the Laboratory Director.
- Perform ART tasks—including ICSI, biopsy, eggs vitrification and warming, embryo vitrification and warming, media and dishes set up, eggs retrievals, sperm preparation, eggs insemination, fertilization checks, stripping of cumulus cells for ICSI, embryo grading (Gardner grading), participate in PT external and internal, and perform embryo transfers of fresh and frozen embryos—at required standards.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and other SPRING Fertility team members.
- Conduct daily quality control activities.
- Perform ancillary duties as requested to maintain a clean and operating laboratory, including cleaning, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
- Bachelor of Science in Biological or Chemistry required; degree in reproductive biology preferred.
- Technical Supervisor certification from the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) within two years from when eligible.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in embryology field.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
Full‑time exempt onsite position that requires early hours, rotating weekends, and holidays.
CompensationSalary range: $70,000–$150,000. Salary is based on experience, certifications, and level of skill in embryology.
