Overview

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown is a gateway to Denver’s lively downtown scene. Boasting a contemporary convention venue, our Silver LEED™‑certified hotel is within walking distance of the best attractions in the downtown area.

Responsibilities
  • Manage kitchen staff in daily production, preparation and presentation of all food.
  • Check all items against recipe cards, verify use records, and ensure quality presentation.
  • Monitor line set‑up, equipment maintenance and “clean as you go” policy.
  • Prepare food according to recipe cards, production and portion standards.
  • Start ahead‑prepared items, controlling portion sizes.
  • Date, rotate and store food in accordance with BOH General Operating Procedures and Inventory SOPs.
  • Monitor pars, identify shortages and remove unused items from storage.
  • Assist in correcting food cost problems and control waste.
  • Train, develop and coach staff, promoting the Accident Prevention Program.
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef instructions.
  • Maintain a positive, professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • One to two years of related experience.
  • Team‑work and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of kitchen practices and procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
Physical Demands
  • Regular lifting of food cases up to 70 lbs (75% of the time).
  • Periodic climbing and bending.
  • Mobility to travel 30‑50 feet, continuous standing during service.
  • Moderate hearing, excellent vision, and literacy to read use records.
Environment

Shift typically 8 hours inside. Freezer temperatures can reach –10 °C; frontline temperatures may exceed 100 °F.

USD $21.75 – $22.75 per hour.
