Job SummaryThe HR Manager is a key leader within the HR team, responsible for managing a group of HR Generalists and Coordinators in the designated region. This role is pivotal in overseeing the delivery of HR services, ensuring compliance, and driving best practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong generalist background, proven experience in team leadership, and a passion for creating a supportive and efficient HR environment.
This role is crucial in building strong relationships between HR and the regional offices.
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for specified locations, ensuring consistent support and application of HR policies and practices.
- Partner closely with Operations leadership to provide ongoing support.
- Oversee daily HR operations, including employee relations, policy implementation, and compliance monitoring.
- Conduct and oversee investigations related to employee conduct, workplace injuries, and administrative leave cases; escalates complex or high‑risk issues to the Director level as appropriate.
- Coach supervisors and mid‑level managers on performance management and corrective action.
- Interpret and apply employment laws and internal policies; escalates compliance risks to the Director of HR.
- Collaborate with the HR Director and senior leaders on workforce planning, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
- Ensure timely distribution and management of payday paychecks, and final paychecks.
- Assist in drafting and updating HR policies, procedures, and training materials in partnership with the Director.
- Support and mentor HR Generalists and/or Coordinators in execution of their responsibilities; may directly supervise one or more HR team members.
- Gather, review, and analyze HR data and metrics from the HRIS to identify trends and inform decision‑making; prepare standard reports for leadership.
- Partner with the HRIS team to troubleshoot issues and ensure data integrity across systems.
- Collaborate with other departments and HR leadership to support onboarding, offboarding, and transitions to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Lead local HR initiatives that support organizational culture, and staff engagement in coordination with the Director.
- Serve as an advocate to the mission, vision, and values in internal and external HR communications.
- Maintain current knowledge of HR trends and regulations and share relevant updates with HR staff and department leaders.
- Become immersed in the culture to assist in developing cultural moments and events that reinforce the organization’s values.
- 8+ years of HR experience, including business partnering, preferably in a nonprofit or high‑growth startup environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- Broad knowledge of HR principles, best practices, and a working grasp of HR workflows and systems.
- Exceptional people skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to remain neutral with confidential matters.
- Strong ability to juggle multiple demands and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong desire to deliver precise, high‑quality work with a strong sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of Colorado and federal labor law, including FMLA, wage and hour, EEO, ADA, and other employment laws.
- Understanding of how benefits plans work and payroll processes.
- Proficiency with office software, HRIS systems, and Google Suite.
- Analytical, creative problem‑solving skills and a genuine team‑player attitude.
- Adaptable to startup environments with high ambiguity and meticulous attention to detail.
- Values kindness toward teammates, employees, guests, and others.
Salary: $115,000
