Location/ScheduleThis role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters with a 4‑day hybrid in‑office schedule. Occasional after‑hours, weekend, or holiday work may be required to respond to urgent issues.
Position Summary & Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities- The People Business Partner provides strategic and operational HR support to Retail Operations, focusing on employee engagement, compliance, and leadership development. You'll collaborate with leaders to solve challenges and implement HR practices that drive results.
- Serve as a strategic and operational HR partner to Retail Operations, enhancing work relationships, morale, and retention.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations.
- Support Store Leaders with benefits, FMLA, LOA, and ADA administration.
- Collaborate with leaders to identify business priorities and translate them into effective HR practices.
- Contribute to change management strategies that support sustainable business results.
- Identify opportunities for leadership development and training.
- Analyze HR metrics to provide insights for decision‑making and strategic planning.
- 3+ years of progressive Human Resources, Business Partner, and Employee Relations experience.
- Experience with HRIS systems, preferably UKG, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to adjust messaging and listen actively.
- Initiative and focus to meet goals and deadlines independently.
- Empathy and self‑awareness, contributing to a respectful and supportive team environment.
- Logical problem‑solving skills and sound judgment for escalating issues when necessary.
- Dedication to delivering high‑quality work and building trust through reliability and attention to detail.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP certifications preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience supporting multi‑location or retail operations.
- Knowledge of change management frameworks.
- Strong data analysis skills to drive HR insights.
Pay Range: $80,000–$90,000 + DOE and Bonus Opportunities
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
