We are seeking a Director Total Rewards to join our Compensation and Total Rewards team in Denver, CO.
This is a hybrid position open to all locations in the US where there is an Atkins
Réalis office.
The Director of Total Rewards is a strategic leader responsible for designing and delivering compensation, benefits, and recognition programs that attract, retain, and engage top talent. This role plays a critical part in shaping the overall employee experience by ensuring that total rewards offerings are competitive, inclusive, and aligned with the company’s culture and business strategy.
As part of a global team, the Director will ensure US & LATAM programs and practices are aligned across regions, compliant with local regulations, and reflect a unified global philosophy. This position requires a collaborative mindset and the ability to balance global consistency with local flexibility while supporting a diverse workforce and aligning with enterprise-wide objectives.
Your role
• Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy for the US & LATAM regions that enhances the employee experience and supports business objectives.
- Partner with senior leadership and HR colleagues to ensure rewards programs reinforce a high‑performance, employee‑centric culture.
• Compensation:
- Design and manage competitive compensation structures, including base pay, incentive plans, and equity programs.
- Lead annual compensation planning cycles, ensuring transparency, fairness, and alignment with market benchmarks.
• Benefits:
- Oversee the design, administration, and communication of employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, wellness, and ESPP).
- Manage the company’s 401(k) retirement plan, including design, compliance, vendor relationships, and employee education.
- Continuously assess and enhance benefits offerings to meet the evolving needs of a diverse workforce.
• Employee Experience & Wellbeing:
- Champion initiatives that improve overall employee experience, including wellbeing and financial wellness.
- Lead the development and implementation of recognition and reward programs that celebrate employee contributions and foster engagement.
• Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):
- Provide strategic and operational support for M&A activities, including due diligence, total rewards integration, and harmonization of compensation and benefits programs.
• Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure all total rewards programs comply with applicable laws and regulations, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of compensation and benefits trends, legislation, and best practices.
• Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing Total Rewards team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About you
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline and 10 years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience enhancing employee experience through total rewards strategies.
• Proven experience supporting M&A activities, including due diligence and post‑merger integration.
• Strong knowledge of compensation frameworks, benefits design, 401(k) and ESPP administration, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with HRIS and compensation tools (e.g., Workday, Mercer, WTW).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Additional information
Expected compensation range: $175,000 – $220,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and geographic location.
