Company Profile

Congruex designs and builds broadband and wireless communications infrastructure, enabling connectivity for industries ranging from healthcare and energy to transportation and social interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing
    • Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
    • Calculate wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions based on company policies, employment contracts, and legal requirements.
    • Process payroll transactions accurately and timely using payroll software.
  • Tax Compliance
    • Withhold and remit payroll taxes (federal, state, local, Social Security, Medicare) to appropriate agencies.
    • File payroll tax returns and provide required documentation during audits.
  • Recordkeeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate payroll records (employee data, earnings, hours worked, tax with holdings).
    • Generate and distribute pay stubs, W‑2 forms, and other payroll documents.
    • Conduct regular audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Payroll Audits and Reconciliations
    • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communication and Support
    • Serve as point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.
    • Provide guidance on deductions, tax withholding options, and paycheck calculations.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence
    • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
    • Ensure payroll practices adhere to company policies and labor laws to mitigate risk.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for payroll process automation, workflow streamlining, or reporting enhancements.
    • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to implement changes and improve efficiency.
  • Payroll Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Assist in preparing payroll budgets and forecasts based on projected costs.
    • Provide financial analysis related to payroll expenses to support decision‑making.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience working on payroll in California, including knowledge of state law (overtime, meal breaks, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Power BI skills preferred.
  • Prevailing wage and certified payroll experience preferred.
  • Multi‑state payroll processing preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a nice‑to‑have.
Education
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Required Experience
  • 3–5 years of related payroll experience.
License/Certification
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
