Position Title: Human Resources & Administrative Assistant
Department: Human Resources
Reporting Function: Human Resources Business Partner
Supervisory Functions: None
Salary: $24.50 - $26.50 per hour
Job Summary: The Human Resources & Administrative Assistant serves as the welcoming first point of contact for Laradon while also supporting the Human Resources team through administrative, onboarding, and employee support functions. This role is designed for an individual interested in building a career in Human Resources through structured training and cross‑functional development. The position merges front‑office reception responsibilities with hands‑on HR support, creating a growth pathway into the HR profession while ensuring a warm, organized, and supportive experience for employees, families, and visitors.
HumanResources Support & Training Track
- Assist with onboarding processes including new‑hire paperwork, I‑9 support, badge creation, and orientation scheduling
- Maintain employee files in compliance with confidentiality and record‑keeping standards
- Enter data in HRIS, Schoox, and other internal tracking systems; vet HRIS systems to maximize operational flow
- Prepare onboarding and training packets
- Assist with benefits enrollment periods and open‑enrollment communications
- Coordinate training and internal communications
- Serve as a friendly and supportive resource for basic HR questions, escalating as appropriate
- Act as the primary receptionist, greeting and assisting all visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer and route incoming phone calls
- Receive, sign, and sort all incoming mail and packages
- Manage visitor sign‑in procedures and maintain building access logs
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception and lobby areas
- Assist with general administrative tasks including copying, filing, scanning, mailing, and data entry
- Support office supply ordering and inventory
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- College coursework or degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of administrative, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred
- Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to learn new systems and processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment
