UX/UI Engineer – In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, user‑centric designs. You will oversee the evolution of the design system, drive user research initiatives, facilitate design sprints, and ensure the timely execution of high‑quality designs efforts will contribute to a positive team culture, foster innovation, and elevate the overall user experience, aligning design strategies with the company’s business goals.
Essentialjob functions included but are not limited to the following:
- Promote and advocate for user‑centered design principles and methodologies within the organization.
- Work with marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure a consistent brand and user experience across all touchpoints.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, clinical associates, and other stakeholders to lead advanced product discovery processes and identify clear, concise, and comprehensive goals and requirements.
- Effectively communicate design concepts, strategies, and decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
- Contribute to the evolution and expansion of the design system to meet the growing needs of the product, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.
- Collaborate with developers to implement and maintain design system components.
- Conduct and participate in user research activities to gather insights into user behaviors, needs, and preferences.
- Translate user insights into design solutions that enhance the overall user experience.
- Lead and facilitate usability testing sessions to validate design decisions and iterate based on user feedback.
- Facilitate design sprints and workshops, encouraging cross‑functional collaboration and rapid ideation.
- Design new experiences and layouts that evolve and define visual systems.
- Take a hands‑on approach to high‑level design projects of large and/or ambiguous scope, including creating wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs.
- Design user flows that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces.
- Document workflows for developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Adapt design methodologies to suit the agile and dynamic nature of a startup environment.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices to ensure the team remains innovative and competitive.
- Travel to onsite clinics working with customers and end‑users for research and design workshop sessions.
- Attend company‑wide meetings and events as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Product Design, User Experience Design, Human Computer Interaction, Web Design or related field is required.
- Proven experience as a Product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product designs.
- 3+ year’s professional experience designing for web and mobile interface products.
- Demonstrate strong experience of design thinking methodologies in practice, using empathy and critical thinking to understand and frame your problems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a user‑centered, exploratory approach to solving design problems.
- Comfortable working with and adhering to design systems and/or pattern libraries.
- Advanced research skills, leading well‑framed user research and testing: planning, recruiting, leading, analyzing results, making design recommendations, and communicating findings and recommendations.
